National Galleries of Scotland, Edinburgh, Scotland

For the restoration of the Royal Scottish Academy building (1826) Gallery (Room 6) sponsorship and the creation of an underground link to the National Gallery of Scotland (1859), this project has provided a national center for the display, enjoyment, and understanding of art.

Also for the Van Gogh in Britain: Pioneer Collectors Exhibition at the Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art.  The scholarly exhibition included 40 works and provided a fascinating insight into the collecting and growing appreciation of Van Gogh, with loans from London, Amsterdam, Chicago, St. Louis, and New York, as well as from a number of private collections.

Also to support the renovation of the Scottish National Portrait Gallery by “adopting” Caledonia, the central figure (literally and figuratively) on the frieze painted by William Hole in 1898.
